Our team comprises experts in both communications and robotics domains as our primary goal is to fill the gap between Communications and Robotics for the future of connected robotics and autonomous networks.
David Gesbert: "Wireless networks have long served to connect humans in the 2G-3G-4G era. 5G has seen a move towards connecting basic machines (low-end devices and sensors) to the network. However, the next frontier lies in the synergies between mobile radio systems and advanced machines such as robots. This is also what 6G will be about. Robots will take action and mobility decisions based on information collected wirelessly from their environment. Conversely, wireless networks will benefit from data collected from mobile robots that will act as intelligent sensors, enabling advanced mapping and localization performance."
