5G networks can provide an ultimate beyond the visual line-of-sight range for control and communications for future connected robots. Motivated by this and for the first time, we have integrated OpenAirInterface (OAI) and QGroundControl (QGC) to control robots (i.e. UAVs) and monitor and manage the network. As a part of our connected-robotics series, we are excited to present the first video demonstrating control and telemetry command transmission between QGC and a UAV over a private 5G network empowered by OAI.
